Pocket doors slide completely into a compartment in the wall with only the edge showing. Door pulls are installed on the edge of the door that work with a touch of the finger to retrieve the door from the compartment and pull it shut.

All you need is a few simple tools to create a small cavity in the side of the door. You don't need to remove the door. You can install the door pull on any pocket door that's been previously installed.

Pull the door halfway open by grasping the edge of it with your fingertips. Measure up 36 inches from the floor and make a mark on the edge of the door. Clamp a small block of wood on either side of the door, sandwiching the side of the door between them. The blocks should be centered on the mark with part of the blocks above and part below where the pull is to be installed.
